Our Core Privacy Promise

Your privacy is our highest priority. Butterfly was designed from the ground up to respect your personal boundaries. We do not read your messages, view your screen, track your location, or store personal user data.

        🔒 Blacklisted by Default: Sensitive apps such as WhatsApp, Signal, Banking apps, Password Managers, and Photos are blacklisted by default and are never collected, transmitted, or displayed on Discord.
      

Information We Collect & How It Is Used

Butterfly collects only the minimal data required to render your active status on Discord:

App Foreground Metadata: The package name (e.g. com.spotify.music) and application title (e.g. Spotify) of the foreground app currently open on your phone.
Session Timestamps: The start time of your current activity to display elapsed timers (e.g. 00:15 elapsed).
Device Pairing Tokens: Randomly generated anonymous UUID keys used exclusively to link your mobile device to your desktop companion app.

Information We NEVER Collect

❌ Personal Identifiable Information (Names, Passwords, Emails, Phone Numbers)
❌ Screen contents, screenshots, or keystrokes
❌ Chat messages, notifications, or contact lists
❌ GPS / Location data
❌ Browser search histories or personal files

User Consent & Control

Before any app tracking occurs, you must grant explicit consent within the Butterfly mobile app. You maintain full granular control at all times:

Enable or disable tracking for individual applications in the Privacy Control Center.
Pause tracking at any time using the global toggle switch.
Unpair devices instantly to wipe local session tokens.

Data Retention & Security

Activity updates are transmitted securely via encrypted HTTPS and WebSocket (WSS) connections. Session activity logs are ephemeral and automatically cleared when sessions end.
